Lovely little hidden gem in Pembroke Pines!!! Such a cute place with the most adorable owners, which are always there taking care of their shop. The food is delicious, always on point! This place gets busy, busy, busyyy; but it's worth the wait. Great customer service and awesome food.

Amazing customer service and the mayors as funny as can be. Great food, great service, good times!

Happy to find a traditionally deli. So many have closed. Both food and service were good. We sat at the counter since there was a 20 minute wait. Eggs were cooked as we requested. So nice to get omelette with onions that were lightly browned! Bagels were good too!

Best breakfast since I moved from Miami Lakes,Fl . We use to have a spot called Brothers of Brooklyn and this place called Mayors is twice as good!! Just be here early if you want to sit and enjoy a good breakfast and you can even bump into Shaq sometimes which is a regular when he's in town. Great place

2.5 but no plans to go back any time soon, so I will round down. I will try and chalk this up to ordering the wrong thing. We came in for breakfast and the place was packed. They had a large group outside and I was worried we would have to wait. We went in and luckily there was a table for two available. It took the waitress a good while to bring us over menus and get our coffee orders. She looked super busy, perhaps one extra waitress will make this place run smoother. She came back with the coffees and took a good while to come back and get our food orders. I got the skillet. It came with home fries, onions, peppers, cheese, ham and 2 eggs. I asked for over easy . I got the skillet and the 2 slices of cheese were barely melted on top. Why don't all restaurants just do shredded cheese? It just looks so much better. Anyways, one of the eggs apparently popped and they just cooked it. So I only had one egg oozing out...which is what I love about eggs. I should of got bacon instead of ham. We also got some french toast, which were good. Not amazing, but very good. I can't see myself coming back for breakfast, but maybe for a quick lunch sandwich. But, once again...no time soon.

You have to get there early as it gets packed. Nice hidden mom and pop brunch place. If your an usual the server will remember your name and the food is an upscale of an IHOP or Denny's but without sacrificing $$$! Good value for what you pay!!

Food was delicious the home fries were awesome! Very welcoming people! Got the egg and sausage bagel sandwich. Bagel was very soft and delicious. I would recommend this place if you live close.

Its the second time I've come here and the staff is great! The food is great too. I love the Nova spread; I have been trying to find a place that has great Nova spread that doesn't taste like plain cream cheese with Nova just mixed in. This is the place! They definitely get busy on the weekends. My only con to this place is their home fries, they are a little over seasoned to me. Other than that everything else is great!

Very good American breakfast. Very hard to find a place like this in south Florida. Had the egg sandwich on a bagel. Very good. The bagels are made fresh.

What a great atmosphere! My friend and I wanted a place that was not far, but wasn't the everyday brunch (during the week) type of place. Once I checked online and read the reviews about Mayor's Cafe, I knew I had found the perfect spot. I had passed by there quite a few times, but had never been... What a shame! But, now that I know and that had such a great experience, I'll be sure to go again. It is cozy, friendly, the price was quite reasonable, and the food was very good.

This is really a 2.5 review. We walked in a sunday at noon for some late breakfast. The place had a big party outside waited to be seated, but fortunately they had one table for party of two available. We were seated right away (more like pointed to the table and told to go 'sit ova der') The place is quite small, and it was really crowded, the tables are really close to eachother too, which means you can hear what all your neighbors are discussing during lunch. Our waitress was not awful, but she wasnt too friendly, she was clearly overwhelmed and did not have time to give recommendations. So we looked through a menu quickly and placed our orders. I ordered a bagel sandwhich with eggs, ham and cheese. My husband ordered their skillet (which comes with two eggs, potatoes, ham and cheese), and we ordered three pieces of french toast to share. My sandwhich was good, nothing to rave about but good enough to enjoy. My husbands skillet on the other hand was just eekkkk. The cheese ontop was BARELY melted, the plate it came in was too small for the skillet so the potatoes kept spilling out of the plate into the table and my husband just was NOT impressed with it. He didnt even eat half of it. After we were done eating, we had to maneuver our way to the french toast, because our waitress NEVER picked up our empty plates or empty cups and the tables are tiny. It was really hard to enjoy the french toast with a full table of dirty plates. The food was NOT awful, but the place is poorly organized. They are under-staffed, the tried to fit too many tables inside of that tight space, so it just felt like I was having breakfast in the middle of the Heat parade! I could hear everyones conversation, people were bumping into us, there were dirty napkins and plates everywhere and I probably wont be returning.

Crazy long wait but that's only because the service and the food are so great. It was well worth it!

I'm sorry, I read these good reviews and I cringe. I hate to pull out the ethnic card, but I am Jewish. I went there for bagels and bialys. They are horrible. I bought a dozen bagels and bialiys with whitefish salad and nova lox. The worst were the bialys. First time in my life I received pre-sliced bialys. It is obvious they do not bake their own which is the first sign of trouble. They were more like over-baked crackers. Bagels were less tasteful than Publix (and those are very average). The whitefish salad had so many bones that it made me gag while I was eating. I've been there a few times because they are close and I was hoping for the best, but never again. I have also been there for breakfast. Food is fair and a little over-priced.

I love this place. Gets quite busy even on a Monday. I see this as a sign of a great cafe. The server we had was super attentive and the food was awesome! Used to go to bagel time (hulk) this is my new favorite mom and pop place! Oh and they use fresh mushrooms in their omelettes. ...not canned! Not fancy, but clean and great food!

I came here for breakfast with my girlfriends for an Girls' Morning Out...None of us had ever been there and I was not quite sure what to expect. Our server was really good, but you could tell the place was busy and I really only saw 2 servers for the entire restaurant. The Mayor was there and he did a little dance to get the room laughing...I'm still trying to figure that one out! The food was excellent! I had the Veggie omelette with cheese, a sesame bagel, grits and a side of bacon. I also asked for the choice cream cheese instead of the regular and it was so fresh! This is not a pre-made cream cheese. You could see the fresh chives throughout and it was really chunky, so if you're expecting a supermarket style chive cream cheese get the plain...I personally wanted to eat it with a spoon! The portions were huge so I ended taking half of my bagel and omelette home and enjoying it the next morning:) I will definitely be back:)

First timer there and the food (breakfast) was great didn't take long to be seated you kinda have to find your own seat we also were recognize by the gentleman at the cash register for being from out of town with the sound of a duck horn lol thought that was some cool shit ! I would def recommend to others

Great brunch place with affordable prices! Very old school and homey feel to the place, and the service is fantastic. I always order their french toast because it's cooked to the perfect fluffiness.

I love this place and I go there multiple times a week. Staff is always very friendly and nice. And the food is delicious. From the Mayor's skillet, to the 222, to the chicken salad club, or most recently the Greek salad with chicken, I've never been disappointed. The bagels always taste fresh and the cream cheese and lox is delicious. It is a little bit small, and seating can be cramped, so make sure you go outside of peak hours.

I would recommend this cafe because it's exactly what it's supposed to be a local good food for a fair price huge portions and very friendly service. It does get packed but in my opinion certainly worth the wait. I recommend the french toast and the lox and bagels. Try it you'll like it!

This place is like heaven for bagels. If you like breakfast, you will love this place. It's really convenient that they are open in the morning, since I usually eat breakfast then. First, the staff is so friendly, and I know something about that! I used to be a hotel concierge at the Red Roof Inn! Second, the food is so good!!! I had the lox bagel (which had a hole in it). I also had coffee, which was hot as eff, just the way I like it. My girlfriend had something too, but she speaks Spanish, so I'm not sure what it was. Go here, don't try anywhere else. The front door is super well oiled.

Recently discovered this place. An amazing little hole in the wall with an incredible staff. Fresh and delicous breakfast at amazing prices. It seems to have its regulars too. Great ambience! On our first visit the manager came out and introduced my wife and I to everyone. We felt so welcomed! Will definitely come again.

Husband was recommended by a friend and we have been twice to this busy busy diner, but i can say i loved it. On a saturday or sunday morning, the wait is about 20 minutes for two. Our waiter was awesome and the gentlemen at the cashier (might be the owners) were very nice and chatty. On our last visit, husband ordered the skillet and it looked delish, i had the bagel & lox. Good portion. Worth the wait.

Cheap, convenient but very busy. Mario, our server was friendly and knowledgeable. His humor made the early morning crankiness subside. Coffee on the other hand, did not. Their coffee was watered down and not satisfying to this caffeine addict. I ordered the veggie omelet (which had no cheese?) with a side of yummy home fries and a side of bacon. Mario then asked if I wanted a toasted bagel or muffin. I opted for the bagel swearing I would eat it and ended up leaving it untouched, on the table, side by side with the rest of my gigantic omelette.

My wife saw this place listed in top 10 breakfasts in the area so we went for Mother's Day. As we expected, it was crazy busy. The estimated wait time was about 15 min and it was pretty close. Seating 2 is pretty easy. Its a small place, but with mostly just breakfast/lunch items, things move quickly. But no one was ever rushed. So we sat with another couple at a table for four. Not a problem. Everyone was really nice. My turkey Ruben was very good, stuffed, the potato salad was like my long ago hometown deli and my wife enjoyed her 2,2,2 breakfast of eggs, French toast and bacon - all looked perfectly prepared. Grabbed a couple of knishes to go for an evening snack - excellent - the pastrami knish may just be the best I've ever had! Headed back on Wed to get some bagels on special. Excellent bagels and bialies. Mon - Wed buy 12 get 6 more free. Will freeze the extras. Great deal. Only reason I dinged them a star is my coffee cup came out with lipstick still on it. They apologized and brought another right off, but regardless of how busy, the waiter should have noticed it.

Where's My Tip!??!! Visited this cafe on Sun 8/17 for breakfast. Ordered eggs and bacon, received 1 and 1/2 strips of bacon, eggs with no flavor. Very cramped, a little uncomfortable to relax, with customers and servers in and out in small aisles. Food was average. Upon leaving we took our check to the counter/register to pay, only a few feet where we were sitting. Our server returned to our table i thought to clear our dishes, however it was to get her tip. We heard the server say "Where's my tip?" to her boss also known as the town crier with his kazoo and local announcements. He updated her on our location. Terrible. We couldn't believe our eyes and ears. Gave 1 star for the bagel,

Really nice place. Great service. The mayor came out with breakfast foods for those waiting outside. I had the western omelette. Very tasty, big enough to share. The bacon was nice and crispy. Home fries were tasty. Overall, a nice casual place for breakfast.

Love this place! Service is impeccable. Danny always waits on me, remembers my name and treats me like a queen. My favorite meal right now is the corned beef hash for breakfast, or I will have french fries and bacon with the eggs, which is also yummy!!!

I had breakfast at Mayor's Cafe twice last week. The coffee was really quite good and it went well with the buttermilk pancakes and 3 strips of bacon that I ordered along with. The second breakfast was equally as good. 2 eggs with well done hash browns that were not burnt. Had a fresh poppy seed bagel with cream cheese. Lots of poppy seeds on the bagel which is the way i like it. Again the coffee was very good but this time I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice. The juice was in fact fresh squeezed and it was just right. I will come back for breakfast again. I heard the corned beef was very good so will try that next time i eat out for lunch

I went for my morning run and had a feel for some homeade pancakes and eggs. I didn't want to go to Denny's or Ihop. I prefer to support a local neighborhood business rather than a national chain so I went over to Mayor's. I checked out the website and determined what I wanted, called ahead and placed the order to go. The cafe is located in the Publix shopping plaza on the corner of Hiatus Road and Taft Street. It is owned by the mayor of Pembroke Pines and his family, hence the name. It's a small cafe with some stools and high tables around the perimiter of the cafe and then a good bit of chairs and tables throughout. I cannot rate the in-dining experience as I got my food to go. The webiste had a price of $6.99 for the 2-2-2: 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and 2 bacon. When I'm checking out, the price was $7.99! I advised the cashier/manager (he looked like a manager) and he told me that the price was $7.99. I then told him that the website showed $6.99 and proceeded to pull up the website on my phone to show him. After our back and forth, he charged me the $6.99. In looking at the menu posted online, it said (that in very small writing on the bottom) that the prices were subject to change at any time. Okay, now call me crazy but if you have a restaurant, you can't up and change your prices like that without alerting your customers. Either you update the website in a timely fashion or you have a sign in the restaurant stating that the menu items have increased. There was no notice in the restaurant so that was unacceptable to me. I finally got home with the food (I live 5 minutes away) and it was probably the worse breakfast I've ever had. The pancakes tasted like expired Aunt Jemima pancake batter and the eggs were soppy and wet. The bacon was the best part. Keep in mind that this was a 2-2-2 platter. I ate 1 pancake, 2 forkfuls of eggs, and 2 strips of bacon. I threw the rest away. I figured it was God telling me to not spend my money on breakfast when I am fully capable of preparing it myself lol Nevertheless, I will not be returning to Mayor's Cafe for breaksfast. Maybe I'll try a sandwich or something in the future but breakfast is a no-go!

Overall, this is an average diner. We had a 20 min wait for party of 3 on a Sunday at 930 am. The staff was friendly and food didn't take too long to come out. However the menu was simple and nothing really stood out with our meals. I probably wouldn't rate it above your average Denny's

It is exactly what it is. A great local breakfast/diner spot. The quality and service are exactly what you'd expect it to be. The bus staff does a great job cleaning up and turning over the tables. There are almost always 2 seats available at the window counter so if you don't want to wait you can enjoy the local people watching. Otherwise you can expect a 20 min wait for weekend breakfast seating.

Moving to Pembroke pines about 3 months ago I began to find all the local restaurants, which I love. I'm over the food chain restaurants they are nasty and I am trying to eat real food. This is now my new spot!!! Everything is always fresh and staff are so friendly. The french toast is my favorite, also the Greek omelet is yum yum, it has feta cheese, spinach and I add tomato and it taste great, something different. I have tried over 6 different things and I have loved them all. I have only been here for breakfast since it closes at 3, I might try it for lunch soon, everything looks yummy as well. Oh and i order a lot to go, by the time I ordered 3 times they new exactly what I wanted with just my name. Love me some Mom and Pop places. Forgot to mention he is the Mayor of Pembroke Pines, hence the name " Mayor's Cafe". Def will always be a returning costumer.

My wife and I went for breakfast and good was good. My only problems were that it took a very long time to get our food. Also, we asked to sit at a table that wasn't in the walkway and was told they couldn't sit us at a larger table because we only have 2 people so we were kinda uncomfortable. The most annoying part was I ordered a large glass of milk, and it came in a small glass for over $2. No big deal, but the lady next to is did the same and had a larger glass, so not consistent. I would consider coming back, but not on a weekend.

I only get food togo from this place because it is crowded during certain hours. Staff is friendly food is cooked as requested. My son loves the pancakes. If you want to eat at the restaurant, arrive early or be prepared to wait. Tables are close to each other. You will make friends or be annoyed.

A nice little place. It was my first time here and the food was good. We had breakfast on a Friday morning. It was somewhat busy but we got seated right away. The place is clean and has a pleasant appearance. The pancakes were good, not great. I did also like the bacon n eggs. My wife enjoyed her French toast. My only beaf was the service. She didn't check up on us. I had to wave her down to get her attention a couple of times. I'll give the place another try. Maybe she had an off day.

If your in or around Pembroke Pines and you need an excellent spot for breakfast or lunch, you need to eat here. The Mayor's Skillet is simple but ridiculously tasty. As far as breakfast/lunch cafe places, Mayor's Cafe is super clean. Also nice to see employees who like their job and make small talk. All in all a standout place. You need to check it out

I had been stopping in over the past several months to get bagels to go and then went a couple times for Sunday breakfast. I stopped in again yesterday to pick up a BLT to go. Mind you, this a BLT, no sides, no server, no nada. Brown paper sack and out the door. Snotty cashier says $6.99!!, like I've somehow been taking up her time while I'm waiting for her to figure out which to go order is mine. I say "What?". Again, little snot cashier scowls at me and repeats loudly $6.99, acting as if I've offended her. I keep my cool and ask her to please double-check the price. Yep, that's it, she says again loudly. So, I just pay and say I'll talk to the Mayor about it on my way out. I get his attention and we have a quick conversation. His final comment to me is "Come in tomorrow and I'll take care of you". I stop in the next morning and when I flag him down and remind him of our conversation the day before, his comment to me now is that's the price and price of bacon is "killing us". REALLY?? No reference at all to our conversation of one day ago and making it right. I sit and take that comment in for a second, grab my glasses and go down the road to the next Mom and Pop (which is why I mistakenly started going here in the first place) and get a great BLT on whole wheat, loaded with bacon, cole slaw and fries on the side, for $6.50. You can keep the hype and crowds. Way too crowded for the price and quality of the food, IMO, and I would much rather give my business to someone who appreciates it more.

Really good neighborhood spot. I was instantly pulled in, and stayed there until well out the door. I'm looking forward to going back. This could be my regular breakfast spot. I'm not sure if the lunch selection seemed as inviting, but I'm open to trying it. The service was great, and staff was welcoming the moment we walked in. I only planned on a bagel, but one look at how good my neighbor's meal looked gave me second thoughts... a special that included a lean steak, eggs, home fries and a bagel. A great value at $10.99, especially considering that my husband and I decided to share one order! And yes, every bite lived up to the expectation.

Great place to have breakfast... Delicious food, very welcoming staff and atmosphere I would highly suggest getting there as early as you can on weekends because it gets packed quick and it's not that big of a place. They are known for their bagels and they do not fail to deliver.. Fresh and toasted - it was delicious. I ordered the western omelet and it was great but had a little too much peppers and onions in it.. Came with 3 eggs, with ham, peppers and onion.. It was huge! With a side of home fries (potatoes), I could barely finish it.

Roomie and I came with a friend for Saturday breakfast. It was "early" for a Saturday, around 8am but the place was already pretty full. We were seated right away, though. After reviewing the menu, the first thought that came to my head was "how come only omelettes get sides included?" It just seemed very unbalanced? For example, my friend ordered omelettes, and she was able to choose potatoes and bagel to be included. My bagel breakfast sandwich came with nothing. Potatoes would be nice as a side. Regardless, I did enjoy my sandwich, but it wasn't anything gourmet-amazing. Sausage, egg, cheese on a bagel. I remember seeing something about "Best Tea" on the website, so I asked for their tea selection. Not sure if the website just isn't updated or it's false advertising, but they had nothing special whatsoever in their collection. The thing that really turned me off was towards the end of our visit. This is the reason I am rating 1 star & not returning, even if the food was decent. A man who I assume is the owner (or at least manager) came by asking if we wanted any more coffee. None of us had ordered coffee, so we said no, thanks. He then replied "Good, because we need this table. ha ha." Um, what?! We couldn't tell if he was joking or not, but I think that's still something VERY rude to say. It made me want to sit for much longer just to spite him. However, my friend had to leave so it really was time for us to go. As we got up, he told us to do something productive with our days. Again, joke or not, it rubbed us the wrong way... as if we look like bums to him. We pay our checks, walk out the door, and notice that there is a group waiting for a table. So I think he really WAS serious about kicking us out. Well, you got what you wanted, sir. We left and are never coming back.

Strangely the fact that I can't stand politicians of either party made me remove Yelp's "Secret Six Star of Approval" come on you all know about the Secret Six, it's not just six unknown historical figures, it's Yelp's happy points. Just press Alt+Ctl+S, it magically will appear. Ok, I lied....gee I must be a politician. See what I mean. Now back to my new favorite deli, the Mayor did something right. What a great little homie deli. I was waiting for our waitress Carrie to yell at me, she didn't she just shown us her beautiful smile, walked the floor like a model and took our order. Service with a smile, and just a slight pirouette. My nova and everything bagel was great, but for the love of God and all things holy no lettuce, that's for the goyem. I like this place, I see the Mayor is working equally as hard as his staff, eehhh, I've spent too many years of my life dealing with every shape and size of politician to even look for a sole. I hope my kid grows up to sell reverse mortgages to the poor, instead of getting involved in politics, but quite honestly I'd send him to Mayors to see how to run a deli, you got my vote there!!!

We were craving pancakes and eggs benedict. We found this place by Yelps suggestions. My husband ordered eggs benedict and i ordered the short stack pancakes with hash brown and two scrambled eggs. Everything came out hot, fresh and on point. The service was very warm and they made you feel part of their family. Definitely coming back!

I honestly don't understand why this place has an average of 4 stars, it did not live up to my expectations. I probably should've paid more attention to some of my fellow Yelp friends reviews, but you live and you learn. The place itself is not that small, probably seats a maximum of 40 people. But those 40 people and tables are pretty close together. So you're mostly squeezing by to get in and out of your seat/table when the place is packed. We came here on National Pancake Day, only because IHOP was ridiculously packed and I wanted pancakes and something else for breakfast. When we first got there the owner was nice, welcoming and sat us right away. Our waitress then came and asked what we wanted to drink, I wasn't sure yet and I asked about something on the menu and she just nodded her head. I understood that as no, stay away from that, which is fine, but I was still curious to know what it was and I never got that answer. To eat I ordered the short stack, which brings 2 pancakes and the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce for the eggs Benedict was a very yellow onion tasting sauce. I tried to eat as much as I could, but after a few bites I just couldn't anymore. I love onions, but hollandaise sauce should not taste like straight up onions. In a case like this is where I really wish the waitress would've returned and asked how everything was, but the only time she ever came back after we got our food was to give us the bill. I just told my husband forget it, pay and let's go and never come back here again. And then the main thing I was looking forward to was the pancakes and they were just ok. I could have made better pancakes for myself at home! I was just completely disappointed with this place. The largest population you find eating there are older people, or senior citizens. Maybe that's why things taste the way they do, I know their taste buds aren't the same so maybe that is who their cooking is just catered to. I unfortunately would not recommend this place nor do we plan to come back, which sucks cause it's close to home, but I rather drive further for good/amazing food and service!

Mayors is a good breakfast spot in Pines. We have only been once, but were happy with the experience. It is your classic diner/bagel spot. The coffee was hot, they had a tea selection (which other diners in the area do not have), and the food was cooked properly. There is nothing too special about the menu, and the decor is pretty typical. If you are looking for something unique and different, this is not your spot. If you want bacon, eggs, and a cup of joe, stop on in and give them a try. The wait staff was friendly as well.

This is a solid breakfast spot, it reminds me of a deli. It's simple and to the point. The decor and ambiance is simple and casual. Even the wait staff is very to the point but efficient so I like it. I ordered a plain bagel sandwich with egg, bacon, and cheese. The sandwich was huge I was only able to eat half. My bf order a bagel with nova and he said he liked it but would have like if it had capers. We also ordered a side of corn beef hash which was very good but borderline almost too salty. They make a mean cup of coffee which I was pleasantly surprised by. 2 bagel sandwiches, 2 coffees, and a side of corn beef hash was $23.80. I would definitely come here again.

I was in the mood for breakfast and decided to give Mayor's Cafe a try. They were very busy but it was not a long wait. The staff was very friendly. I especially enjoyed when they turned up the music and asked everyone to clap along to the song "Happy". I ordered a nice cup of hot chocolate that I must admit made me feel warm and cozy. I also ordered the Egg Special (2 eggs, potatoes, and a plain bagel with cream cheese). The eggs and the potatoes were pretty good, but the Bagel is the reason that I am giving Mayor's 4 stars. That bagel was so good! I couldn't believe that I kept going on and on about a Bagel! I couldn't help but think that I would get a Bagel, Egg, Bacon, and Cheese Sandwich the next time I stopped by Mayor's. I will definitely come back to Mayor's to have that Bagel Sandwich!

I've heard a lot of non-yelpers at work raving the bfast here. Came here on a Saturday morning and found a line, which was expected. The staff is friendly but because this place is relatively small and crowded it can be a lil rushed but in no way taking away from the experience. I just needed my eggs and potatoes that morning and boy oh boy did they deliver. As I've declared, 2015 is the year of the egg, I had to get eggs over easy and it was luscious and non greasy. Everything here is fresh but it's really all about the bagels. Even the regular coffee was good, with unlimited refills. A local joint owned by the mayor of Pembroke Pines and of you're lucky you may spot a celebrity. You can't live in Broward and not break bread here!

3.5 stars So every grandparent from Cooper City came to Mayors Cafe today with the family or today may be Senior Citizen Sunday and i missed the memo but this place was slammed with quite the long wait. I decided to take my bagel to go and went on to Yelp to find a tasty looking picture. There are multiple lines that develop so please make sure you're in the right one to ensure your experience is slightly more pleasurable. I...for the record was in the right place thankfully but my wait was a little too long for just a little ole' bagel sandwich. While waiting, I was observing and I'm pretty sure the popularity here lies in the service. The Mayor prances around the restaurant stopping at every table...he dances, he jokes, he talks, he jokes some more, and then he puts the happy song on blast and makes everyone clap and sing. Thanks to his getting around, he was quick to notice I'd been waiting for food longer than I should and began inquiring with the staff...turns out no one ever heard the bell ring to signal my bagel was ready. So while this place is chaotic and fun, i wouldn't say it stands out for the food or its ambiance. My bagel was great and tasty, but at the end of the day, this is a regular ole' bagel shop with tacky decor and real friendly service. I'll return soon enough to check out some other items and see if I'm convinced otherwise.

I have been here first time with my friends for Saturday breakfast. A lot of people, so it was difficult to find the parking lot here on the weekend. However, it was worthy, friendly staff, good food and great coffee taste. Nice experience in Pines. High recommended

A little hole in the wall. I had the 2-2-2. 2 eggs, 2 slices of french toast, and it came with bacon or sausage but they allowed me to sub it with home fries. The French toast is awesome. The eggs and home fries was mediocre, nothing blown out of the water there. The coffee was pretty good as well. Our waitress was attentive and I liked how all of our food came out at once. My mom had the spinach omelette with an everything bagel and home fries and she really enjoyed it. It was really busy on a Friday morning so their doing something right.

Continue to be a regular customer! Due to some health concerns I had to change my choices. Robin and Walter suggested an egg white omelette with spinach and feta and wheat toast. I added some mushrooms and sliced tomatoes on the side. Good stuff!!! Thanks Robin and Walter for the suggestion. Thanks Eric (the cook) for a great breakfast!

On a particular lazy Sunday I decided to order in take out breakfast. And by lazy I mean I didn't have the energy to sit outside for 30 minutes and wait and then wait more time to get served inside the restaurant and engage in pleasant conversation. There was a line outside the place and another line inside waiting to pay so I thought to myself this place has got to be really good. Even though it had mixed reviews I decided to embark on an Eggs Benedict journey. I didn't see it on the online menu but I called and ordered it right up. 15 minutes later I picked it up. At first glance it was a very generous portion for $7.99. And upon tasting it the onions certainly overpower the hollandaise sauce... while It hit the spot since I had been craving it, I'm going to continue on my search...

Got lost in this neighborhood and eating at Mayor's cafe was perhaps the best thing that happened to us all day. The menu is a little overwhelming but in a good way! They offer you all kinds of things from white fish chunk salad to a normal BLT sandwich. The servers and staff are very friendly my mother and I were a bit confused on how the cafe worked and everyone seemed happy to explain. Our food came out quick which is always good! The atmosphere is great it always seems to be packed and ppl are happy and eating delicious food and the music is even good! I tried the matzo soup which was very good. And I had the baked salmon platter with an everything bagel and it was very fresh and satisfying. If you're ever in the area I would definitely stop into Mayor's cafe!

Do expect a wait when you come here but it's worth it! I order my usual french toast, bacon and eggs over easy (always perfect) then we usually split a plate of DELICIOUS potato pancakes. What we really go there for is the quick and amazing service and atmosphere. Everyone is just so lovely, always willing to accommodate. The Mayor actually owns and runs the business. Nice guy. The employees are friendly, the older women there can be a little pushy but thats a part of its appeal. Lewis is incredibly nice and always checking every table to see if anything is needed. If you get there at the right time you'll usually leave there having tasted something you would've never ordered because they sometimes walk around with a plate for you to taste from. *Picky Eater Husband loves going there!

Sat morning breakfast. Packed house. Only had coffee, grits, eggs, bacon, french toast. Only, that's funny! I guess future visits to be made: there's a lot to still try out: bagels, deli sandwiches, etc. Friendly staff & with ALL DUE RESPECT several WWII vets in the house, their presence alone made my day!

This was our first time at Mayors cafe and it was phenomenal. They take reservations and we had a large party of 10 for midday Sunday. They sat us right on time. The place was packed and now I know why. We all had breakfast and everything was cooked to perfection. Several had the skillet breakfast which was off the charts. the food was served popping hot right off the cooktop and the portions were large. I never had a take home leftovers from breakfast before. The staff were extremely caring and none of us wanted for anything throughout the meal. I highly recommend Mayors to all!!

I would have given this place four stars based on my first visit alone, but after a second visit I have to bump it down because the service was significantly terrible on my second visit. The food at Mayor's is fresh and tasty. The neighborhood old folks clearly love this place. Maybe not being a regular is the problem here. I will definitely give them another shot, third time's a charm - right?

  • Joy L.

Fast service. Extremely friendly and welcoming. Even held the door for me on the way out. I came here at the suggestion of my colleagues to pick up bagels for a baby shower we were holding at work. I have never been here before, so I had no idea what to expect. During a week day in the morning, there weren't many people here. I was immediately served and out the door within 5 minutes. I order a dozen bagels and a 1/4 pound of cream cheese. There was nothing extra special that would set this place above other bagel places. There really aren't any bagel places that close to here- so it makes sense that it gets packed on the weekends- so if you want excellent service, come during the week.

A classic "A-ok" Yelp 3-stars. Stopped in for breakfast when I had a little time to burn on this side of town. The place is definitely popular; there was a wait for tables at 9:15 on a Thursday. I was by myself, so the counter seating worked fine for me though. Got the 2-egg breakfast, which was exactly what you expect-- nothing exciting but nothing bad. The potatoes, however, were salty by even my standards. Service was fantastic, and I heard the mayor at the counter kindly educating a bagel customer on all of his options. I doubt I'll make any special trips here to eat (especially with a wait for a table) but if I'm in the neighborhood, it's a perfectly viable option.

My first time visiting and I will definitely be a return customer. The service was quick and friendly even on a Saturday morning. I had 2 eggs (I asked for medium well but it was runny - no biggie), ham and home fries with wheat toast. The eggs and ham were good. Not to crazy about the home fries. I also had coffee and water. My waitress did an excellent job of checking in on me and making sure my coffee cup always stayed full! I went on a solo trip but would definitely come back with fam and friends.

Mayor's Cafe has great food at a great price and fantastic service. The Mayor himself is often there with his lovely wife. His business partner Luis is as well making sure everyone's experience is positive. Servers Robin, Mario and Carrie are very personable and are always hustling but never too much to stop an be friendly or top off your coffee. This is a great place that is worth a visit. My wife and I are regulars along with our friends.

Went on a Sunday with my husband and 6 year old daughter. Looked packed, but moved very quickly . Maybe waited 20 minutes if that, and way better food, service and wait time compared to any IHOP or Denny's . I don't know if the man being the host is the owner or what but he was great. Very welcoming, attentive and in the middle of us having brunch, blasted on the restaurants speakers Pharell's "Happy" and start to clap and get The whole restaurant involved . Music was on for a min or 2 max but it was pretty nice and out 6 year old loved it. Totally recommend and will be coming again. No more ihops for us!.......oh and way cheaper!

We visited the Mayors Cafe for Lunch. I asked what mayonaise was used in the egg salad and the waitress did not know. Her response was "we do not make it here", That is fine, but that is an important question and I feel the staff should know the ingredients of the products they serve. The person I was with had an open faced sandwich with Mashed potatoes. It was ok. Prices were average. I hear that breakfast is much better. We will visit again to try the breakfast entrees.

Came in on a Monday, around 10:30am. The place was busy, but not crowded; and since I was by myself I just took a seat on the small two-seater table. I was craving a hearty delicious breakfast and I decided to finally check this place out. My server - Mario - was very nice and helpful. As I took a few minutes to browse the menu, he offered me some water. I then asked for their hot chocolate to start. Not amazing, I've had better, but still yummy. I then decided I had to have some french toast and, since I'm the type of person that likes sweet and salty combos, some sausage and hashbrowns on the side. Apparently, they DON'T HAVE HASH BROWNS at this cafe, they have home fries as a substitute. I decided to go with that and a side of turkey sausage. Mario recommended I go with the "222" since it'll be cheaper and he would just substitute the eggs for the home fries bc it would be cheaper. That was nice of him! The french toast was delicous! I don't know if it's because I'm pregnant but it does not taste similarly to the ones you get at IHOP or Denny's. Maybe the use of challah bread is what made the difference. All I know is that they were fluffy and tasted very fresh and warm. The home fries were awesome! They were perfectly seasoned and just a tad crispy around the skin. Yum. Afterwards, they give you the check and you pay at the counter. I would love to go back to this place and have more french toast. It's my new craving. Haha. Great food and great service.

Loved this place ! Get's busy but it is because they are good. The only thing I didn't like was the blintz. My husband liked the ham and cheese omelet. Servers are very nice and fast. The older gentleman in the front, not sure if owner or manager makes the atmosphere fun and entertaining. You felt like you were family. Very nice people. I would go back and try something else on the menu. I enjoyed the everything bagel. It was delicious.

Great food. Was well worth the wait. Had to wait a little before being seated. The owner greeted us and sat us. I had the 2-2-2, the food was awesome. My partner had the breakfast skillet which he loved and didn't finish, the portions are very good. Can't wait to go black. Nice breakfast joint.

Great breakfast and very affordable prices. Whenever we want a good brunch and do no want to drive anywhere far, Mayors prices and quality doesn't disappoint. Plus it's a hidden gem so it doesn't get packed like most brunch places. I get the 2-2-2 and my wife ordered the lox bagel. Portions are huge.

I must agree with my fellow Yelpers on this place. I wouldn't grade it a 3... more so a 2.5. Mayor's Cafe is located in a shopping plaza (just a little north of the Pembroke Lakes Mall). I found the location to very clean and either it is a rather new build or has recently undergone a renovation as the restaurant looks up to date. The first thing I noticed was the size (hence why it is called a cafe, I guess). It's rather small and all tables and stools are rather uncomfortably (for my taste) pushed too close together. So if your looking for a little privacy while you talk to your friend or partner regarding the latest gossip or if you just want some peace and quiet then this is not the place for you as your seated neighbor will be all in the conversation or zone. Food - It's not horrible but it's not great either. I opted for the 333: 3 eggs, 3 sausage patties and 3 french toast. I also got the home fries, corned beef hash and asked for grits (but they were not placed in my to go bag so I was not able to try it). I won't go into any details regarding each ingredient but all items just taste average. No amazing flavor that would make me run to this place every morning. If you live near this place, like right now the street or a 1-2 min drive and you just want some breakfast then I would say come over and give this place a try but any distance above that... I would just stop at a local Denny's or iHop.

I like this place. I've been here a couple of times for breakfast. Is it the best? Eh...no. The food is decent. What I like most about the place is the service. Our server was personable and friendly and even made our kids feel appreciated. The owner is a very nice guy, too, and walks around to say hello to everyone. While we were there, someone was celebrating their birthday so everyone stopped to sing. I didn't expect that from this kind of place. It was a pleasant surprise. Getting back to the food: Yes, it was well prepared and tasty. The bagels, while good, are still a long way from being great. I still think Sage, in Hallandale, and the Bagel Bar in North Miami have much better bagels. It's really pretty difficult to mess up eggs so I have a hard time judging based on my omelet. Don't get me wrong - it was very good. Personally, I think what sets a breakfast restaurant apart from others is their pancakes and french toast. They were good, as well. As far as the pancakes go, Grampa's in Dania Beach is still tops on the list. The Flashback Diner in Davie has better French Toast. But, look. Living in Cooper City now, we are just thankful to have some breakfast and lunch places nearby that aren't IHOP or McDonald's. When we lived in Hollywood, we had nothing after Jimmy's shut down. The bottom line - if you want good food and great service with a smile in Cooper City, Mayor's has my vote.

Had the bagel sandwich with cream cheese... Sooo good but fatty! Pricing came out different than advertised and the attending staff member ,Walter, was too rude and stubborn to fix his mistakes. It should be your pleasure to sell me over priced bagels come on! A second visit is debatable.

Got the deli omelette and it was the best omelette I've had in a while! My boyfriends corn beef and hash didn't taste like it came from a freezer and home fries were so fresh and not that frozen bagged stuff. Service was quick, fast, and so nice. The owner there was awesome, made me feel like I was back in New York with his fun, Jewish style personality (I don't think he's Jewish though). Great place for breakfast!

And the spreads are just as good.......was in the area visiting family for brunch and they had bagels and spreads from here, went there early afternoon to get more and bring home and the everything bagels and others I like were gone.........shouldn't have been surprised........will definitely go back when in the area and pick up extra bagels and spreads to bring home.

I came to Mayors for breakfast at around noon on a Sunday. It was crowded however we only waited about 20 minutes for two people. We both ordered the Mayors Skillet and it was not what we expected. There were too many potatoes and not enough of the other ingredients. Also, the cheese on top of the skillet was melted Kraft singles. It didn't taste terrible, however it wasn't amazing either. I also want to mention that there were very few bagels left. We ordered an egg bagel which was one of the very few left, but then, right before we received our food, the waitress came back and explained that there weren't anymore egg bagels. I felt like it was very disorganized. Even people who sat down after us, received their food first. We did not complain when we were there and weren't rude by any means, so we are very confused as to why the service was so poor. I would not recommend this restaurant for breakfast. Maybe the lunch is better.

Came here for breakfast this morning and loved it! Nothing bad to say, the coffee was great, the lox was great, everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent. This place is a great little breakfast and lunch spot. It is crammed with all the local types that you'd expect to see in a neighborhood favorite: cops, families, the old guys with their coffee, young professionals with their papers. Everyone is laughing and enjoying their meal. My bagel and lox with home fries is excellent and I can't wait to come back for lunch.
